CHINESE SINGLES' DAY

Chinese Singles’ Day is November 11th of every year.  Chinese young people celebrate this festival every year because they are proud of being single.

Unit 3 Reflection

         In this unit, I learned a lot about different genre of movies such as action, comedy, wars, adventure and horror. Also, I learned many famous actors and directors. Before I studied this unit, I mostly watched the movies in my own language because I don’t know any movies and actors of English. Now, I begin to watch American films.

         As we know, Movie is an important of pop culture. Everybody have watched movie, and some one watched a lot. movie is very related our daily life. people watch movie for relaxing and learning, so I enjoyed learning this unit, because it gave me a lot of fun when I was learning.

         My Aha moment was when I watched a films, I felt there are many things that are very related my real life. For example, when I watched the load film which name The Hangover, it makes me remember my journey to Las Vegas in this summer. I went there with my friends; we drank some beer then we went to a casino. We hoped we can bring something back from the casino by our luck. It’s real life that everybody has a dream in Las Vegas.

         I didn’t know that I could learn many movie’s terms during this unit, I think these are very useful when I go to a theater to watch movie.

Road movie is a film genre in that the main character leaves home on a road trip.

Guns'n Roses (American)
Guns'n Roses is one of my favorite rock band from the United States. I have listened their songs for 6 years.

I think they have affected 80's and 90's generations American fall in love with hard rock music.

Slash is a one of my favorite guitarist. He is a very brilliant musician. He created many famous songs such as Sweet Child O' Mine, November Rain, they made the band being well known.

Unit 2 Reflection

n this unit, I learned a lot about what is pop culture and we live in culture every day and everywhere. When we watch the movie, watch the sport game, listen the music or even we eat the Popeye, we are living in culture.

         When I was reading the text of introduction to culture, I realized culture is all around us. People around the world grow in the specific environment that influence the diverse culture. But everyone has their idol or something they would like follow them. For example, I enjoy the time when I listen the rock n’ roll music and I search many songs of my favorite band. During we did the presentation at class, I have known many pop star. Then I did some research of these stars such as Kobe Bryant, Taylor Swift and Mars Bruno. Also we discussed about what makes a star be success. That’s a very good point to know more about culture and our life. That’s what I mean we are living in culture.

         My Aha moment was when I did the research of the pop stars, I found many interesting things of them. Then I began to listen their music, watched their show and asked my friends to know more about them. It makes me feel I got development.

         For the bumper sticker, I would like to say “Learn it and live in it”.

         I didn’t know that I could get the development while I was listening music or watching TV. Also I will find more value of this class.
